چکیده

Tb evaluate tests for behaviora] teratology in animals, brain dysfunction caused by maternal environmental ugents is compared both epidemio]egical]y and experimental[y. Ethanol: The features of CNS involvement in human FAS (fetul alcohol syndrome) and FAE (fetal alcoho] effects) are developmental delay and intellectual impairment. One of thc most vulnerablc structures in the rat fetus exposed to cthanel in utero is the synaptic formation in the hippocampus. What test for brain dysfunctions, uch as deficits in learning, inhibition a d attention, is there? rlbbacco: Thirty-three percent of human FTS (feta] tobacco syndrgme) cases huvc CNS involvement, which is characterized by developmental delay, and behavioral problems such as a $hort attention span and hyperactiyity. As te the concomitant effects of ethanol and tobacco on human offspring, CNS involvement appeared to be most specific for alcohol exposure, but was also observed slightly with smoking without drinking. How can the effccts of concomitant substances be discriminated in an animal test? Low-copper level in brain: Related to thc development of their offspring, abnormal movements in brindled mutant mouse heterozygotes are observed, These findings may be infiuenced by beth copper and oxygen radical metabolism, The teratogenic effects of triethylene tetramine dihydrechloride, a chelating drug for copper on the fetal mouse brain are noted both gross]y and microscopically. How can the abnormal CNS development in relation to a certain biochemical mechanism be detected by means of an animal test? In conclusion, to examine behavioral teratology in unimals, specificity and accuracy should be considered in comparison with jn humans.

The impact of COVID-19 during pregnancy on fetal brain development

The development of the brain as the most complex structure of the human body is a long process that begins in the third week of pregnancy and continues until adulthood and even until the end of life (1). Human brain myelination begins one to two months before birth in the visual system and eventually lasts until the age of two in other sensory systems and then the motor systems (4). Processes a...

Ethanol Concentration and Its Correlation with CNS Suppressor Drugs in Postmortem Subjects

Background: Many studies have been done in order to interpret correctly the results of ethanol analysis and its related problems. Unfortunately, it was not easy to determine BAC rate, due to postmortem different conditions or personal and clinical differences in metabolism and excretion of ethanol. The time between death and autopsy, the environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) are i...

Brain Activity Map Extraction of Neuromyelitis Optica Patients Using Resting-State fMRI Data Based on Amplitude of Low Frequency Fluctuations and Regional Homogeneity Analysis

Introduction: Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) is a rare inflammatory disease of the central nervous system which generally affecting the spinal cord and optic nerve. Damage to the optic nerve can result in the patient's dim vision or even blindness, while the spinal cord damage may lead to sensory and motor paralysis and the weakness of the lower limbs in the patient. Magnetic Reson...

Preparation of magnetic chitosan/Fe-Zr nanoparticles for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution

Copper and hexavalent chromium are heavy metals that are harmful to human health. Natural adsorbent chitosan, due to its considerable properties such as the presence of functional groups of –NH2 and -OH, non-toxicity, low cost, and biocompatibility, has gained much attention in pollutant removal. Therefore, in the present study, adsorption of chromium (VI) and copper (II) ions was conducted in ...
